Past Films
Story is how humans learn, remember, and make sense of who we are. Visual storytelling has always been my way of listening to the world—of capturing movement, memory, and the quiet truths that live between people. The camera allows me to witness with intention, to follow the threads of identity, migration, disability, and belonging, and to translate them into images that speak beyond words.
This page gathers some of the films that have shaped my creative path: Yo Soy Alcántara (2004), a personal exploration of lineage; New Children/New York (2010), a portrait of young newcomers navigating a new city; and my playful short dance films Lula Wakes and Dos Mayas, where movement becomes its own language. Together, they reflect my ongoing search for stories that connect us to ourselves, to each other, and to the worlds we inhabit.
